Powertron Converters Ltd joins Martek Power group

Powertron Converters Ltd is pleased to announce that it has joined the Martek Power group of companies. This will add further strength and opportunity for the Powertron team to consolidate its position as one of the leading suppliers of electronic power converters.

Both Martek and Powertron are specialist power supply manufacturers working directly with customers to provide specific solutions in addition to offering a range of standard products. Powertron Converters Ltd, established as Powertron Ltd in 1971, is one of the market’s leading suppliers of electronic power converters to Europe’s rail equipment industry, providing standard models plus a continuing development of new products all approved for use on rolling stock. The Company also provides bespoke power supplies to OEMs in a wide range of industrial sectors including Instrumentation, Mobile Communications, CCTV and Process Control. Whilst remaining an independent design and manufacturing centre Powertron’s capabilities will be further enhanced with access to Martek’s product range and the opportunities for technical and commercial collaboration.

Jointly, the two companies offer unparalleled power expertise in AC-DC, DC-DC and inverter technologies. Products range in power from 5W to over 6 KW and incorporate the latest switch mode techniques to meet customer specific applications.

In recognition of its new status, Powertron Converters will now operate under the name Martek Powertron.
